Blue Bead Bracelet
The centrepiece of this bracelet is a large blue round stone. Decked on either side with large beads, hand painted with traditional patterns from the Northern regions of Ghana. Each bracelet is made from scratch by a seasoned artisan, who began her training at a very early age, as is the custom.
Krobo powder glass beads are made in vertical molds fashioned out of a special, locally dug clay. Most molds have a number of depressions, designed to hold one bead each, and each of these depressions, in turn, has a small central depression to hold the stem of a cassava leaf. Each bead and bracelet is lovingly made by seasoned Krobo or Ashanti artisans and is, therefore, unique.
